Roof Deck
Your roof decking is typically an OSB, or plywood sheet mechanically fastened to the rafters of your home. It is imperative to have a healthy substrate to fasten shingles to.
We will accommodate your request as it relates to removing felt to the decking. It is our preference to remove all materials and get a good visual of the roof deck on older homes, especially if we identify potential soft spots. We will be providing our warranty based on the condition of the roof deck so we want to be sure and keep our percentages high in the way of optimum performance and results on your behalf.
Underlayment
Underlayment is historically a rolled asphalt felt product, but Roofing Solutions always upgrades our customers to a more efficient and better breathing Synthetic Felt Underlayment – pattern nailed with soft cap nails to the roof deck. There is also forms of radiant barrier underlayment that we have provided our customers as well.
Shingles
Shingles are typically the focal point of residential customers roofs. There are several choices from which our customers can choose from:
- Asphalt shingles: This is the type of roof most homeowners first think of when envisioning a roofing project. The three-tab asphalt shingle is most commonly used for economic value. Most of these products offer a 20 or 25 year warranty on their 3 tabs – The Traditional shingle that Roofing Solutions will install achieves a 30 year material warranty.
- Architectural shingle: Similar to an asphalt shingle, the architectural shingle is made to be thicker and laminated layers are staggered to give the roof a multi-dimensional appearance. These shingles are slightly more expensive than asphalt shingles.
